As a teenager growing up in South Philadelphia, I did not have the confidences with planning a wardrobe. Choosing the right color and style outfits for school or special events was a challenge. How I looked has always been important to me. Looking good comes from my family history. My mother and great Aunts all were an Inspiration to me. For they always strived to look their best. In that they dressed in colorful outfits with matching accessories. My love for hats began when I went to church, and I saw so many hats that the woman wore to church. They all looked beautiful wearing decorative hats that coordinated well with their dress style. This became a hallmark for my fashions and hats.

It was then I realized my passion to help others build confidence with their personal wardrobe style and started a fashion and accessory brand, Dust to Dawn Fashions Inc.

Later I shifted my specialty from fashion design to creating and making hats. 

At Dust to Dawn Fashions Inc. hats are designed and made in one of a kind and limited additions by the hat designer and milliner, Dawn Wilson.
